Tony stayed in Italy to oversee the renovations and also to do much of it himself. It was not long before we came up against the full brunt of Italian bureaucracy.

Our grand adventure had all the makings of the most stupendous disaster of the century had it not been for ONE SINGLE SOLITARY FACTOR – COLIN AND NATHALIE!!! Colin was tireless in assisting Tony with any work, helping with sourcing, negotiating with contractors and even driving him around while he was still unfamiliar with the area. All the work that we have contracted Colin to do was of a high standard, and he worked without a murmur in freezing cold in December to help prepare the house for the family visit. All this with a wicked sense of humor which kept Tony’s spirits high when the going went from tough to impossible! Nathalie was a complete saint in her own right, taking over when we needed REALLY fluent Italian, providing a sympathetic ear; many, many hot meals and even a hot shower to save the day!! We also found her a superb negotiator and able to obtain excellent results with her gently persistent approach to coaxing someone into doing what she wants them to!

We are nearly finished and have survived really well and can none of it would have been possible without Colin and Nathalie – there is just no doubt about that! We can recommend them without reservation!
